Decadent, dark and full of chocolatey goodness!

This cake is a wee bit different to the cakes I normally make.  It was requested for the birthday of a wine and chocolate conisseur who is not so fond of fondanty delights.

 

 

 

The cake is a Merlot and dark chocolate cake (using of course New Zealand wine and Valrhona 72% Araguani chocolate as a complement).  It is glazed in a red wine syrup and covered in delicious slabs of dark chocolate!

Happy Birthday

This musical 60th birthday cake was made for a music teacher at a primary school.

The cake itself is a chocolate sponge with coffee and chocolate mousse. 

The cake is iced in the musical notes to the tune of 'Happy Birthday'

Wedding cake anyone?

This three tier wedding cake was created for a wonderful couple who I wish all the best to with their married life!

The bride is gluten free so the top tier was a crazy dark flourless mudcake covered in ganache.  The bottom two are gluten full and equally as delicious, the bottom is white chocolate mudcake and the middle a zesty lemon cake. 
The couples wedding was themed 'Cream and Green' with a fresh summery feel so the decoration was light and modern with LOTS of white chocolate and yummy fresh juicy berries!

Chocolates and Flowers!

These cute little mini flower pot cakes were made for a lovely friend of mine whose partner always gives her a plant for her birthday! Not quite the present she was after but these layers of chocolate sponge and Valrhona cocoa buttercream gave her a giggle.

Sexy red shoe cake!

I was recently asked to copy a womans favourite shoe for her 50th birthday! Being a true shoe conniseur I was more than happy to oblige and even happier still when I saw the sexy red shoe original! The cake is a Caramel mudcake with white chocolate ganache then covered in rolled fondant and topped with the icing shoe.

Garden Bugs

These cute little cupcakes were made for a Garden Party.

There are ladybirds, caterpillars and butterflies!

The cupcakes are Citrus with Citrus buttercream.

That time of year again

I guess a lot of parents were busy in January because we're starting a new round of 21st cakes! This cake is a variation of a popular design, it features stars, stripes and spots with a ribbon around the middle and stars on top.
